Let’s face it; most people probably want to be noticed, right? Isn’t that why they buy the fancy pants with designs on the back pockets or the bright colored clothing or shoes? What is it that people wear that make you turn and take a second glance?
Next time you’re driving down a busy street, take a look at all the different signs along the road and on the buildings – there’s a lot of them huh? What colors of signs stand out the most to you? Which signs drew your attention?
As a business owner, I’m sure you want to be noticed. You want people knowing who you are and you’re location. The signage on your building and along the road plays an enormous role in drawing attention to your business and location. How can you, as a business owner, help ensure your signage is not lost in the crowd but stands out amongst all the others to capture potential buyers? One of the ways to get your sign noticed is through color.
Below is information taken from the artical “Arts & Science of Sign Design” on the Signage Foundation, Inc website under Research Library.
Color: Color is recognized as part of a corporate logo. Studies have shown that 80 percent of the recognition of a trademark is due to its color. Whether it is an iconic, international brand or a small local store, viewers will recognize the sign in part because of the colors used on it.
“In the publication Visual Communication Through Signage, authors Karen Claus and James Claus ranked the following color combinations, from most to least readable:”
So, whether you’re looking to install a new sign or change up an existing sign – keep in mind the above colors to help your sign stand out in the crowd and get that “second glance”.
Let’s face it, summer is over and fall has arrived with its cooler weather. I hope you’re enjoying the cooler temps before the colder temps arrive. :) For those who like a nice cup-of-joe or hot chocolate, do you think they taste a little better when it’s cold outside?
This has been the year of the Coffee shop at Image National. If you haven’t had the chance to stop in at one of the new “Caffe CAPRI” or “Lucky Perk” coffee shops in the Treasure Valley, take advantage of these cooler temps, swing on in and grab yourself a nice cup-of-joe. While you’re waiting in your car or chattin with your BFF’s, take a look at the awesome outdoor signs made right here in the good old US of A (ie. Nampa, ID).
The fall season is closing in upon us and the College Football season has begun - that means Boise State Football here in the Treasure Valley.
We, here at Image National Signs, are starting a new season of our own as we come up to speed in the world of Social Media. We have an updated website which reveals some of our key players and team strengths. Our Blog has started, with this posting, and will be updated regularly. Also, you can now check us out on Facebook and Linked In.
My name is Kyle and I've been a part of the Image National family for almost 10 years. I'm a graduate of BSU and enjoy watching Bronco Football, running, and hiking. I've lived in the Treasure Valley for over 13 years. I have the opportunity to make you laugh, learn, and like us on Facebook (the 3 L's) and will do my best to succeed. I look forward to your comments, feedback, thoughts, and ideas and propose the following quote by Dr. Seuss be your guide: "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
May you enjoy following this College Football season (if you don't like college football - I'm sorry) and the start of a new season following Image National Signs!
